New Bachelorette announced

As rumoured, it IS Sophie Monk!

I hope they get guys who genuinely want to have a relationship.
They are going to have to skew the blokes older, too, so hopefully fewer strippers this time round.

Bachelorette Australia – Wed, Oct 26 – almost there

Here we are, at the penultimate episode of The Bachelorette Australia. It’s down to Jake, Matty and Lee.
Matty seems lovely but he really, really likes/loves Georgia so I feel he’s about to be crushed. And I like Lee, so she will probably choose Jake.
Georgia had some sad news this week (story here), so is unlikely to be doing much media after the finale tomorrow.

The Bachelorette Australia – Wed, Sept 28

I’m calling it now: She doesn’t end up with Jake. I’m going for Lee because he appreciates the value of a good pun.
I know some people think Georgia Love slips into her TV journo voice too much, but after a Bachie season in which the word “gorgeous” was used ad nauseum I appreciate she has a vocab. And that she tells people is an erectile dysfunction surgeon. Named Dr Love.

The Bachelorette is about to begin

No sooner have Richie and Alex walked off into the Bali sunset, Georgia Loves arrives on our screens.
It starts Wednesday on Channel 10 and the premiere runs from 7.30pm-9.15pm. The following night only goes until 8.40pm.

Will you be watching or was your belief in love dashed after The Bachie editors made us think Nikki was the Chosen One and Alex was a Bunny Boiler? I’m looking forward to seeing someone on screen you knows how to string a sentence together.

Fans of the US Bachelor series will be happy to hear Nine is fast tracking the latest season of The Bachelorette, screening episodes here only a few hours later.
Real estate developer JoJo was the runner-up in the last season of The Bachelor. She’s 25, which is over the hill in US TV land, so time is running out for her to find true lurrrve.
Tomorrow (Tues, May 24) 7.30pm on 9Life and it is repeated twice the following day.

Casting for The Bachelor (Australia)

Ever wanted to be trapped in a house with 20 other women, competing to see who can wear the sparkliest, most cleavage-enhancing evening gown? Here’s your chance to make that dream a reality: The Bachelor is casting for its 2016 season. You need to hurry, though, as applications close January 29.

The website says they want single women aged 22-35 and single blokes 27-35.  Does this mean they don’t have a Bachie lined up yet, or are they scoping out talent for another season of The Bachelorette?

On the US series the Bachie is usually a rejected suitor from a past season of The Bachelorette, but the pickings from the Australia’s first season are slim. Richie was a bit of a larrikin but not as TV savvy as the others (plus he’s been photographed lately chilling with ex-Big Brother housemate Tully Smyth). And the shine seems to be off runner-up Michael.

The casting website says filming starts in about March and can take three months, so clear your calendars. The sections on the application form are:

  • Introduction
  • Applicant
  • Your Profile
  • Employment
  • Family And Friends
  • Relationships
  • Future Partner
  • Life
  • Medical/Background
  • Clothing
  • The Show
  • Photos
  • Terms
Hmm, clothing? Is there a minimum sequin quota per garment? The mind boggles. Full details of the casting process are at https://thebachelors4.castasugar.com

Would you go on a reality show to find love? We know it’s worked for some of The Farmer Wants a Wife couples and Sam Frost and Sasha Mielczarek.
